This is from another list that I'm on. The person wrote in asking what "tschims dacherde" meant. A person replied saying that "dacherde" = Daughtery so I wrote back to clarify if they meant the exact surname, and they said yes. They are not sure but are assuming that "tschims" means "Tim" or a first name not yet known. The writer wrote back giving me more information or the origin of the name Daughtery as you will see below. I found this interesting since we have some Daughterys in the family. and thought any others who might have this surname would also find it interesting. Perhaps it will also help in research somewhere down the line. If not interested, then simply delete. My post: << Are you saying dacherde is = the surname Daugherty? If so many of my relatives would be interested in this. I even have one who married into our family. Bernice Raymond >> Their reply: Yes, Dougherty, or Daugherty. It was originally O'Docartaigh, and I understand that all spellings came from that. I may have to find that film again and have another look. I have a lot of info on a lot of Dougherty, Daugherty, Doherty, names. If anyone is interested. Bernice Raymond.
