Mr. Horton was a native of Pennsylvania, and after undergoing the fatigues and privations consequent on several campaigns in the war that secured to us our liberty, he moved to Washington Co., Tenn. where he remained until the last five years, after which he came to this county to terminate a life spent in honesty and usefulness among his children. He died in full assurance of a blessed immortality."
