Mar to (1) Martha WEAR 1841. Had children as follows: 1. Polly B. 1843- D 1862 2. Mary Cordelia B 1844, Mar C 1844 to "Dock" BROCK 3. Winfield Scott B 1847 4. William Charles B 31 Dec 1849, Mar to Susan WRIGHT on 12 July 1867 5. Mary Margaret B 1854 6. Robert H B 1855 7. Hugh L. B 1856 8. Ann B 1858 Martha Died 18 Dec. 1860 and in 1862, Jospiah married Nancy Kinner COFFEE. She was born 27 Dec. 1832 in Rockingham Co., N.C. Josiah and Nancy had three children : 1. Nancy Kinner B 28 Oct 1863, Mar Carroll Long HUTSELL 8 Sept 1881, D 10 June 1916 2. Josiah Washiington (twin), mar to Sofia ERICKSON 3. Matilda B 1865, Mar to William BANKS. I have been told that Josiah (1) was the son of James BROWN and Martha CHAPPELL, but no proof. Am also looking for the parents of Daniel DOFFEE B 1806 in Rockingham Co., N.C> Mar 9 Nov 1828 to Manerva CARDWELL. aThey had the following children: 1. James B 1829 2. Nancy Kinner B 27 Dec. 1832, Mar to Josiah Washington BROWN in 1862, Died 18 Dec, 1889 in Athens. 3. Robert B 1833, Mar to Louisa KINCHELO 27 Oct 1853 in Athens Martha died C 1835 and 17 Jan 1839, Daniel Mar. Nancy GIPSON in N.C. They had 11 children as follows: 1. Pleasant B 1840 Mar to Catherine 2. Matilda B 1841 3. Delilah B 5 Apr 18433, Mar to Terry Wayne BROCK 20 Oct 1866 in Athens. He died 30 Sept 1885 and she married his uncle Benj. Franklin BROCK. She died 19 Sep 1938 4. Henrietta B 1845 5. Jeremiah B 1847 6. John W. B Aug 1851, Mar Minerva EVANS 12 Feb 1875 7. Anna B 1853 8. Sarah B. 1854, Mar to Bradforn EVANS, D 1891 9. Isabelle B 19 Sep 1855, Mar to M.F. ARNWINE 12 OCt 1875 10. Martha B 1858 11. Mattie B 11 June 1860, Mar to Steven KILE 13 Nov 1887, D 6 June 1904. Daniel and Nancy moved the family from North Carolina to Athens about 1846. Josiah Washington BROWN owned a lot of land on the Hiawassee River. According to family stories, they all lived close together and were friends with the John WALKER family. I need info on parents of both these men, Josiah Washingon BROWN and Daniel COFFEE, and their wives, Martha WEAR (WEIR), Manerva CARDWELL and Nancy GIPSON, and Martha CHAPPELL. Any correction and additions are most eagerly appreciated.
