Looking for parents or relatives of Alexander Casteel (abt 1800-1862). Alexander's wife was Susannah Sherrill, dau of Alexander Sherrill, who lived in Warren Co TN at about the time Alexander and Susannah would have been married. In 1853, Hiram James Brown married Elizabeth Jane Casteel, the dau of Alexander and Susannah Casteel. They were anecdotally said to have subsequently lived in Winchester (Franklin Co) Tennessee before moving to Illinois. Can anyone provide connections between this family and Winchester TN? Browns in either McMinn or Franklin? Hiram's father was Benjamin Brown (b. 1807 TN; d. 1881 IL). We'd also like to know his ancestry, but that's another project. Jim Patrick
