Leigh Ann, My Brown family came from McMinn Co. also. I will have to check my data to see if there is a connection. My Absalsom Brown married a Green and at her death he married her sister. The period of time is late 1700-early 1800. My Browns came from North Carolina to Tennessee during this early time. If there are any connections, I will be happy to search my data...Which at the moment is all hardcopy...lost my computer from a thunderstorm! I hope someone has a connection with my family lines. I am looking for more information about Adeline Brown or Hays who married Wiley Bailey on 15 July 1865 in McMinn County. Wiley says her maiden name is Brown in his Civil War pension papers. The marriage record calls her Adeline Hays. I believe Wiley met her when he was in the Union army patrolling the Athens, Tennessee area. Wiley joined the 7th Tennessee Mounted Infantry in Clinton, Anderson County, Tennessee. They had four children: Phoebe Jane, Joseph Richard, George W., and Martha. Later Wiley Bailey shows up in Campbell County, Anderson County, and Union County, Tennessee. I believe that Adeline died around 1886. Any clue will be very helpful as I have reached a dead end on her line. Thanks, Leigh Ann Boyd LPartin@aol.com ==== TNMCMINN Mailing List ==== If you wish to subscribe to or unsubscribe from the McMinn Co., TN list, use TNMCMINN-l-request@rootsweb.com or TNMCMINN-d-request@rootsweb.com if you are on the Digest list. ============================== To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237
