Seeking information about a "Hayes" family that would show up in the 1850 Census for McMinn Co. with a child named Ann or Adeline. Also looking for a "Brown" family that may have a child by the same name - Ann or Adeline. This child would be approximately five years old, give or take a year or two. I have no other information except that she married a Wiley Bailey on July 15, 1865. This marriage rite was peformed by A. J. Mathis, M.G. This may have been Adeline's second marriage, thus Hayes may possibly be a first husband's name, though we don't know for sure. Wiley's pension application lists her maiden name as Brown, but the marriage license says Hayes. This was during Civil War time, thus the suspicion that Hayes was a first husband.
