Below are the names of Browns and Hays from McMinn Co in the 1850 census There were two others on page 222 but I checked that one out and found they did not have a girl of the correct age. It's possible one of these families are the ones you seek. If the girl married before 1865 it wasn't listed in the Marriage records book for McMinn Co TN. The only Ann Brown to be listed married Robert Bryant in 1856. Hope this helps some. Maybe someone has access to the actual images for these pages. Good Hunting! Sharon > Brown, B. H. Also looking for a "Brown" family that may have a child by the same name - Ann or Adeline. This child would be approximately five years old, give or take a year or two. I have no other information except that she married a Wiley Bailey on July 15, 1865. This marriage rite was peformed by A. J. Mathis, M.G. This may have been Adeline's second marriage, thus Hayes may possibly be a first husband's name, though we don't know for sure. Wiley's pension application lists her maiden name as Brown, but the marriage license says Hayes. This was during Civil War time, thus the suspicion that Hayes was a first husband.
