    3. Hello to everyone, I received a virus alert from my cousin back east saying her computer had been infected with the following: jdbgmgr.exe It has a teddy bear icon and evidently goes through the address book and sends the virus through the entire thing w/o Norton or McAfee catching it. She sent the instructions to me, I found it and did what she instructed. Most of you will know more about this than I do , so before deleting something from your system if you find it, check with someone who knows for sure. I found it in mine, so sending it to everyone in my address book. She told me the virus sets quietly for 14 days before damaging the system. It is sent automatically by the messenger and by the address book, whether or not you sent email to your contacts. Instructions: 1. Go to start and find the search/find option 2.In the files/folder option , write the name jdbgmgr.exe 3. Be sure you search C:drive 4. Click "Find Now" 5. The virus has a teddy bear icon with the name "jdbgmgr.exe"- DO NOT OPEN IT! 6. If found in the search process, right click and delete it. It will go to the recycle bin. 7. Go to the recycle bin and delete it there as well.

    3. I do not think we are supposed to send "Virus Alerts" out on the mailing list.. This is for the List Owners/Moms/Managers to check on BEFORE bad advice is sent.. Check with your list Manager, Please.. Things like this have destroyed people's computers Jackie Alicia Wrote: From: "alicia" <alicia@brightok.net> To: <TNMCMINN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2002 4:48 PM Subject: [MCMINN] Virus Alert-Please read from Alicia Hello to everyone, I received a virus alert from my cousin back east saying her computer had been infected with the following: jdbgmgr.exe It has a teddy bear icon and evidently goes through the address book and sends the virus through the entire thing w/o Norton or McAfee catching it. 3. I don't think that the jdbgmgr.exe is a virus. It's part of windows 98 and 95 operating system. This same message has been going around for the last 6 months. You better check before deleting the file. 3. alicia That one is old as these hills. Remove that file and you are in a heap of trouble. I am sure Kathleen, our list minder will be glad to tell you that virus alerts aren't to be posted to the lists and should always be verified before passing on to anyone. This one is a hoax. ----- Original Message ----- From: "alicia" <alicia@brightok.net> To: <TNMCMINN-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2002 4:48 PM Subject: [MCMINN] Virus Alert-Please read from Alicia > Hello to everyone, > I received a virus alert from my cousin back east saying her computer had been infected with the following: > jdbgmgr.exe > It has a teddy bear icon and evidently goes through the address book and sends the virus through the entire thing w/o Norton or McAfee catching it. > She sent the instructions to me, I found it and did what she instructed.
