    3. I found this in the deed abstracts just posted for McMinn County. My family is the SMITH family - headed by William Smith. One of his son's Israel is giving land for a school, graveyard, church on his land. I would like to know if it can be located today as I'm looking for where William Smith might have been buried Thanks. Jackie 312 22 Apr 1853 ISRAEL C. SMITH to ELISHA BRIENT, JOHN SMITH, JOSEPH SMITH, JOHN MIDDLETON, SAMUEL WILSON and ELISHA COX, Trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South; for love and affection for laws of God and His people; for a location for a public school house and contingent buildings; land on Middle Creek to include the meeting house, schoolhouse, and contingent buildings, also one tract inclosed and used as a grave yard, near the house in which the said ISRAEL C. 3. Jackie I have been trying to figure out Middle Creek all afternoon. I've lived here 51 years and don't know it so it must be called something else now...that is all I can come up with anyway. My suggestion is to locate the Church instead of the creek. It must be in south/western part of the county. I'll ask Mr. Moses next week...see if he knows.
