Does anyone have Robert B and Bettie Scrogins Davis in their data? He was born 1833...Bettie in 1836. They bought land in McMinn Co in 1852...lived in Polk Co in 1850. Said to be from Monroe Co before that but there is no trace of him there. Could be from Blount Co. Mary Shields: 1842, Dec 14: Copy of Chancery Court at Greenville Decree: Milton Shields and others, surviving partners of D & M Shields and Co Versus mary Shields widow of D. Shields, Reese B. The McMinn County surnames that I am seeking information on are: HAFLEY, CRENSHAW, MEISER, STIFF, SCOTT, WATKINS, BLAIR, BULL, BROWN, MCKEEHAN, and others. I am particularly seeking information on the family of: Thomas STIFF, 1797-1852, son of Jacob STIFF and Rhoda SCOTT. Thomas married Elizabeth HAFLEY, daughter of David HAFLEY and Patsy CRENSHAW on November 15, 1831 in Calhoun, McMinn County, TN. Elizabeth was born in 1813 and died in 1899. Thank you.
