Don't have any historical knowledge but it is located very near the Hickman County Line on what is today Highway 50. Today's map (Delorme Mapping 1992, 1:150000 scale) shows it very near the Fattybread Branch whereby its plains provided bottom land for farming and a source of water long ago. I am sure this spawned the initial settlements. Fattybread Branch feeds south into the Duck River about one half mile downstream. My guess is that the branch (stream) name is historical. No one would name a stream that today (well except me). Boy, I would love to know the story behind that naming. Anybody out there know? Wayne Austin
