Greetings Maury List We have published a 3D photo show & tell on the following Cemeteries of Maury County on Rootsweb. Previously we had only the Shane Cemetery there. Now there are eight. 1 Shane Cemetery (300 + photos) 2 Rise/Rice Cemetery (2 photos) 3 Gilbreath - Morrow Cemetery (50 + Photos 4 Wells Cemetery (30 + photos) 5 Chaffin Family Cemetery (25 + Photos) 6 Mack Family Cemetery (3 Photos- incomplete until tomorrosurmanew night) 7 Reeces Chapel Cemetery (just two photos, 1 Church, 2 Cemetery) 8 Chesley Coffee, Jr. Grave. (Oldest known person with the surname Coffee in the County) Find it on the Web at the following address: MAURY COUNTY CEMETERIES For those that can't make the above hot link work. Copy and past this into your browser window: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~maury/cemetery/ These are generally endangered historic old Cemeteries. If you are lucky enough to have ancestors from the photo list of 450 + persons interred in these cemeteries then you will find a wealth of graphic & genealogy info thanks to my handy digital camera, my attitude of old dogs can still learn new tricks, other contributors, and Mr. Fred Hawkins who allowed the use of the list of names of persons for each cemetery printed in his fabulous book "Cemeteries of Maury County". This site should offer in small measure the ability to identify those who might be buried in many of the unmarked graves in the old cemeteries. That of course will be for those that know their ancestors are in one of these cemeteries without headstones. (Yea, lost ancestors?) The focus of the site is genealogy and cemetery preservation though there are wee bits of history. This site now has over 700 photos and 5,000 words of text published in the highest quality graphics I could muster. This amounted to 100 + Megabytes, to the detriment and benefit of host Rootsweb. Please show your support of (nonprofit) Rootsweb so that massive efforts such as this site will continue to bloom on their servers at no charge to you or me. Volunteers will then continue to publish there in record numbers for our benefit. Wayne Austin Madison, AL
