    1. [TNMAURY-L] Re: Elias Woodall
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Woodall Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0hB.2ACI/294.1.1 Message Board Post: I don't think he lived there but he may have committed a crime there. He lived in neighboring Walker County, GA and Jackson County, AL. What I found was a reference to "A circular letter, 1886, contains affidavits from M.E.M. Ellis, Sarah J. Brashears, Wm. F. Hinton, and M.E. Brashears regarding the confession of robbery by Elias Woodall of Allen County, Kentucky." In a collection from a Jill Knight Garrett. Coincidentally I was told about a marriage record for his son, Lewis/Louis Woodall when Lewis was 62 years old that Lewis' mother's name was Francis Brasher Woodall. This marriage record was from Grayson County, KY where Lewis spent most of his adult life after the Civil War. Lewis born in Walker County, GA about 1847 then moved to Jackson County, AL about 1848 then was separated from his family at about age 8 so that could account for the spellings of Brashears vs Brasher. Just trying to find the connections.... I've found Lewis/Louis living with a Thomas Wilson in Jackson County, AL 1860 census where is was said to have been "bound" until he enlisted. I believe I found his mother Francis Woodall in the same census in the same county wit! h 2 other children, Paulina J and John H.
