According to the 1905 letter from Henry R. MIZNER to R. E. ANDREWS-- <<In the cemetery at Columbia there is a tomb stone with the inscription, "He excaped the bullets of the enemy, to be assassinated by a cowardly pup." The Court said he got his deserts. I don't think he ever had an enemy under fire.>> The deceased was a soldier in the 14th Michigan Volunteer Infantry Regiment Does this 1864 tombstone still exist? If so, whose is it?
