Rick, Valentine Bell is listed in Chester Co. SC about the same time as my Nancy Bell Hamilton and I thought for a long time he could be the father, however I couldn't make a connection. I have the children of Valentine Bell and Mary Magruder as Zephaniah Bell (1769), John Bell (abt 1770), William Bell (abt 1773), James Bell (abt 1775), Fielder Bell (abt 1776), Valentine Bell (about 1777), Elizabeth Bell (about 1779), Sarah Bell (abt 1780), Nancy Bell (abt 1782), Mary Magruder Bell (abt 1783), Frances Bell (abt 1785) and Rachel Bell (abt. 1787) As you can see all the birth dates are just guessed at so the Nancy could have definitely been born a little earlier. I'm searching for a James M. Bell who is named adm. of an estate of a Benjamin Watkins in 1839 Knox CO, TN. That estate was never administered and may have been insolvent.
