Wayne and others who want to know. I have been doing some more research taking the names one by one and searching that way. I'll fill you in on what I know so far and what the relationship might be - if I know. One of the things I am finding out is that Erl Ramsey was still using maiden names for many of the women mentioned here. I am also learning that it is was a wider range of family reunion and not just descendants of John D. and Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey. There were other Ramsey and Kennedy relatives there. I also believe the date of the reunion may be wrong. There are several people listed as being in attendance at the reunion that according to their cemetery markers passed away earlier. I am having a hard time reconciling the death dates of some of the ones gathered with the marriage dates and birth dates of others - so cannot get a conclusive date on the reunion. List of relatives and in-laws attending Family Reunion at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe E. Rea, near Culleoka, Tenn., May 12, 1946: (The names in bold are the way they were listed on the transcript I have of Erl Renfro Ramsey. He has some names mentioned more than once.) L. N. Smith - This is I believe Lindsey Nelson Smith buried in the Friendship Cemetery. He is the son of Sam W. Smith and Lutie Wells. Lutie was Lucindy E. Wells, daughter of George Washington Wells and Dovy Cornelia Ausban. George was the nephew of Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey, being the son of her sister, Lucinda Kennedy Wells. Joe E. Rea - host of this event is the husband of Zula Wells. Zula was the daughter of William "Buck" Wells and Jenny Hobbs. Jenny had passed away when Zula was young. Buck Wells was the son of Lucinda Kennedy, wife of David Wells. Jenny Hobbs and Virge Hobbs were 1st cousins adding another family to this group. The Rea family and Buck Wells family are all buried at Friendship Cemetery as well. Revis V. Hobbs - From the 1930 census this is the son of Robert Virge and Martha Allison "Allie" Hannah Hobbs. He was a great-great-grandchild of John D. and Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey. Eugene Wilson - This is probably the same man listed below as Gene Wilson. I cannot find these Wilson names so far in the cemetery books in the Culleoka area and they are not available in the 1930 census. There is a Cora Wilson, wife of Luther Wilson, buried at Friendship Cemetery. Her maiden name was Cannaday born in 1903. This is another variation of the Kennedy surname so she could be related somewhere but I have not discovered yet. Zula Rea - The Zula Wells mentioned above as wife of Joe Rea. Nannie Joe Grisson - This has to be the Nannie J. listed with Joe and Zula Rea as daughter on the 1930 Census. There are several Grisson/Grissom names listed in the Friendship Cemetery but don't find her so far. Tura Fowler - ? Eliza B. Dinwiddie - She is buried at Wilkes Cemetery and is the daughter of William E. & Callie Fleming Ballanfant. Callie was related to the Ramsey's. Her mother was Teresa Ramsey. Eliza was the wife of Charles Dinwiddie. Horace E. Ramsey - He was the son of James Albert Ramsey and Mary Lou Adkisson and grandson of John D. & Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey. He is buried at Wilkes Cemetery. Minnie L. Reaves - This was Minnie Lou Ramsey, sister to Horace mentioned above. Charles D. Reaves - This was Charles Duncan Reaves, husband of Minnie Lou Ramsey. Helen E. Ramsey - This was Helen Evangeline Reaves, daughter of Charles and Minnie Lou. She married her cousin Erl Renfro Ramsey. They had been married 2 years at this time. Charles Cline - This was Charles Marion Cline, husband of Ruth Ramsey. Hattie Forsyth - This is Hettie Briggs Ramsey, daughter of Horace E. Ramsey, and sister of Ruth Ramsey Cline. Ruth Cline - This was Ruth Ramsey, daughter of Horace E. Ramsey and Mattie Lou Hamm. Paty, Billy and John Bratton Cline - These were Patsy Ruth Cline, Billy Ramsey Cline and John Bratton Cline, children of William Marion and Ruth Ramsey Cline. Mrs. Virge Hobbs - This is Martha Allison "Allie" Hannah, daughter of James Marshall and Margaret M. Hannah. James Marshall Hannah was the son of John and Dianna Ramsey Hannah. Dianna was a daughter of John Dunwoody Ramsey and Elizabeth Kennedy. She married Robert Virge Hobbs. Mrs. Renis V. Hobbs - I am not sure what her name is but she was the daughter-in-law of Virge and Allie Hannah Hobbs, wife of Reavis V. Hobbs. Julia Fay and Rober Edgar Hobbs - I cannot find anything on these two yet. Since they are listed together and next to Mrs. Reavis Hobbs, they might be her children. Murphy Rea - This is William Murphy Rea, son of Joe and Zula Wells Rea, buried at Friendship Cemetery. Jannie Wilson - see notes above on Eugene Wilson. Gene Wilson - see notes above on Eugene Wilson. Mrs. Jessie Martin - This was Jessie Hight, wife of Eldred R. Martin. Have not discovered connection to the Ramsey or Wells families yet. Eldred R. Martin - Eldred R. "Red" Martin, lifetime resident of Culleoka. The Wells Cemetery is behind his property so there might be a relationship there. He just passed away this week. John Edwin Miller, Jr. - This was the son of Hettie Briggs Ramsey Forsythe mentioned above. She was a child from her first marriage to John Edwin Miller. Erl Renfro Ramsey - This was the author of this little piece of info and early Ramsey family researcher. He was the son of Leonidas Alexander Ramsey and Sarah Jane Renfro. He married his cousin Helen Reaves. Sam W. Smith - husband of Lutie Wells and father of L. N. Smith mentioned above. He was killed in a car wreck. Hawkins lists him as being buried at Friendship but he found no marker. The death date listed in his source states a death date of 1934. The source also lists Lutie as dying in 1945. He states hers was a Undertakers Marker which sometimes can be very hard to read. This is one of the deaths if it is right that would indicate the date recorded for the reunion would be wrong. Wm. H. Rea - not sure who this is unless it is William Murphy Rea listed above. Virgie Hobbs - This is Robert Virge Hobbs, son of Jefferson L. Hobbs and Elizabeth L. Coffee. He is buried at Shane Cemetery. He married Martha Allison "Allie" Hannah, daughter of James Marshall and Margaret M. Hannah. James Marshall Hannah was the son of John and Dianna Ramsey Hannah. Dianna was a daughter of John Dunwoody Ramsey and Elizabeth Kennedy. Jessie Wilson - see notes on Wilson family above Buck Wells - This is William "Buck" Wells, son of David Wells and Lucinda Kennedy. He was the father of Zula Wells Rea and uncle to Lutie Wells Smith. He is listed as dying in 1944 and is buried at Friendship Cemetery. Another indication the date is wrong. Joe Rea - same Joe Rea listed above Buck Wells - same Buck Wells listed above Wm. E. Bellaufantt - This is William E. Ballanfant, buried at Wilkes Cemetery. Listed as dying in 1933. Another indication of an earlier date. He was the husband of Callie Fleming, who's mother was Teresa Ramsey - most likely a cousin of John Dunwoody Ramsey. James Albert Ramsey, James Albert Ramsey - son of John D. and Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey, died in 1908 William T. Reaves - This is most likely the son of Charles Duncan and Minnie Lou Ramsey Reaves. I have his name as William Edgar Reaves, born in 1918. Chas. Duncan Reaves - This is either Charles Duncan Reaves Sr. as mentioned above as already listed or Charels Duncan Reaves Jr., born in 1913. Albert Cline - Most likely some relation to Charles Marion and Ruth Ramsey Cline. I do not have an Albert in the list of their children. He is possibly a relative of Charles'. Horace E. Ramsey, Horace E. Ramsey - see listing above for Horace E. Ramsey. Charlie Cline - This is either Charles Marion Cline Sr., husband of Ruth Ramsey or their son Charles Marion Cline Jr. Marshall Hannah - This is James Marshall Hannah, son of John and Dianna Ramsey Hannah and grandson of John D. and Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey. Claude Ball - There is a Claude Ball (1884-1953) listed at Shane Cemetery. I have not figured out his connection to the family. Revis Hobbs - see listing above Joe Rea - see listing above Reece T. Dugger - This is Reece Thomas Dugger buried at New Ramie. Not sure of the family connection yet. Kenneth Fowler - ? J. P. Wilson - ? M. G. Hight - ? - possibly related to Eldred Martin's wife, Jesse George E. Martin - father of Eldred Martin and husband of Catherine Rea Martin Leonidas A. Ramsey - This was Leonidas Alexander Ramsey, one of the sons of John D. Ramsey and Elizabeth Kennedy. He died in 1917 which adds further to the confusion over the date of this reunion. Loudie Wells - This is Lucindy E. Wells, daughter of George Washington and Dovy Cornelia Ausban Wells. She was the great-niece of Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey. She was married to Sam W. Smith and mother of L. N. Smith. She is buried in an unmarked grave at Friendship Cemetery. Sara Virginia Murphy - ? Allie Hannah - same as Mrs. Virge Hobbs listed above Cora McKee - ? Jan Hobbs - ? Zula Wells - Mrs. Joe Rea or Zula Rea listed above Jane Hobbs - ? Callie Fleming - wife of William E. Ballanfant, mother was Teresa Ramsey Mary Adkisson, Mary Lou Adkisson - wife of James Albert Ramsey, died in 1902, buried at Wilkes Cemetery Rachel Elizabeth Reed - ? (Murphy Rea's wife was named Elizabeth, do possibly could be his wife) Minnie Lou Ramsey - same as Minnie L. Reaves mentioned above Sophira McDurman - ? Mattie Louis Ham, Mattie Louis Ham - wife of Horace E. Ramsey, and mother of Hettie/Hattie and Ruth Ruth Ramsey - same as Ruth Cline listed above Maggie McKensie - wife of James Marshall Hannah and mother of Allie Hobbs. Died in 1905. Maude Porter - ? Mary Ball - ? Zula Wells - Mrs. Joe Rea or Zula Rea listed above Jennie McQuigg - This is Jennie Ann McQuigg Dugger, buried at New Ramie. She was the wife of Reece Thomas Dugger. Tura Fowler - ? Cora Wilson - This is the Cora Cannaday Wilson, wife of Luther Wilson who is buried at Friendship Cemetery. Not sure of her relationship to Elizabeth Kennedy Ramsey Hannah Vestal - ? Catherine Rea - I feel that this is Catherine Martin who was the mother of Eldred Martin. I think but have not proven yet that she might have been Joe Rea's sister. Hattie Ramsey - most like the Hattie Forsythe listed above and Sarah Jane Renfro - This was the wife of Leonidas Alexander Ramsey. She died in 1926. A group picture of the assemblage was taken but it did not develop satisfactorily. (information was written by Erl Renfro Ramsey) I will continue looking for the ones I don't know yet. I still can not figure out the date and why some people are listed that were dead long before 1946. This came from a cousin who lived in Oklahoma who passed away a couple of years ago. I have had in my file but never really sat down to look at it. Any one who descends from these folks and can help some I would greatly appreciate it.
