I'm trying to shore up some info or fill in gaps. Trying to find when my Wm. B. Murphey exactly moved to Maury/Marshall co. He married Mary Benton around 1829 or 1830, but no record found. They were living there before 1840, but probably not in 1830. He came from N.C., she from TN. My guess is they were living in a surrounding county prior to this. Anyone researching Bentons in counties surrounding Maury & Marshall? Anyone have a good general idea of the migrations around 1820s & 30s from north central NC to middle TN, like what counties they generally gathered in first in TN? Thanks -- Mark Murphy
