I think the best way to get to Culleoka is to take TN-50 (Lewisburg Pike) east from US-31 to TN-373 because US-31 is several miles from the town and you have to take several different roads to get there from 31. TN-373 goes right through the town. It's 11.6 miles from the courthouse. This is according to my map thing from Microsoft, which is not always right, so you might want to look at mapquest.com or something to verify it. Most people stay at the Richland Inn, right at the intersection of TN-50 and US-31 south of Columbia. There are a lot of other motels too, but this one is on your side of town. Legends is the restaurant next to the Richland. I recommend it. There are plenty of other restaurants on TN-50 west of US-31. I hope you get to hear somebody who speaks Mauryese, but you might not. The cemeteries can be found on http://www.topozone.com/ or it would be easier to just look on Wayne's site where he has maps for most of them, including Pleasant Mount. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~maury/cemetery/ The map shows it is close to Hy 50. To get there you go a little past 373 to Fountain Heights Rd, go left. Old things: President Polk's home is on W 7th not far from the courthouse. The courthouse is old. The MCHS has descriptions for some others on its site. http://historicmaury.org/ Do some research before you go and don't get yourself lost. Enjoy your trip. If you have any old group school pictures I collect them on my site, from anywhere in the US. Gary Hood Marissa, IL http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genieresources/
