    3. Jane, Did you go to the link for the message board post. At the message board you click on the attachment. It opens the letter. When I ran my mouse across the letter, it showed a box in the corner. I clicked on that box and the letter enlarged so that I could read it just fine. I think you probably know but there may be others who are members of this list who have forgotten. When someone posts on the message board at Ancestry.com for Maury County, the posts are gatewayed to the Roots-L list. The only way the person sees a reply made at Roots-L is if they are also members of the Roots-L list. If they are not and we reply to the post over here and not on the message board they may never see the reply. In essence all messages posted on the message board show up on the Roots-L archive but it does not work the other way. You will find messages on the Roots-L archive that you will not find on the message board. As I said Jane I think you probably know that but I think there are many others here who do not. 3. Thanks Rick for the hints. Some of them I had forgotten. I was able to pull up the letter full size. But some of the words I could not read because of the fancy writing. I couldn't make heads or tails out of what he was asking for or even the signature. It didn't look like it was any of my 16 plus lines so I guess I will just forget it. Thanks anyway for trying to help. 3. Jane, Oh I had trouble reading some of the writing too. I always do. Even after 20 years at this, I still can't get used to alot of the fancy writing - probably won't ever.
