    2. Shirley, You are right -- and you are wrong. I, too, am a descendant of Tolliver Craig, but I am likely looking for a Craig in Maury Co. who is not from that family. I am a descendant of William Craig (c. 1760/70, Orange Co., VA - March 1834, Bedford Co., TN), the son of Tolliver Craig Jr. and Elizabeth Johnson/Johnston. William married Mary Taylor, daughter of Capt. Jonathan Taylor of Clarke Co., KY, in 1799 in Montgomery Co., KY. They moved to Logan Co., KY and then to Richmond in southwest Bedford Co. I am descended through their son, Robert Taylor "Old Hickory" Craig whose farm ended up in Marshall Co., TN as the lines shifted. Robert Craig's daughter Mary Ann married George Ray and moved to Independence Co., AR and then Christian Co., MO, where their descendants married into the McConnells, Kenamores and other lines. William Craig had a brother, Johnston, who is said to have married and moved to Maury Co., but I always had doubts about the story. I suspect I am looking for a descendant of the Orange Co., NC Craig family who moved to Maury. Thanks for the information on Ann Burton. I am familiar with Craig Links from my research in the early 1990s. Randy McConnell

    3. Randy: The Craig family that you refer to in Marshall County still resides on the old Craig home-place. A son of this Craig family operates a successful realty and auction company in Shelbyville.
