He married Sarah Gilbert from Rutherford County, NC. His in-laws were William and Sarah Gilbert, from Rutherford County, NC. They also migrated to TN around the same time. Sarah Gilbert died on the Holland estate James Holland was active in politics in Maury County. He served as Justice of the Peace from around 1812 until 1818. He was also involved in farming. Records indicate that he died in 1821 and is buried in the Holland Family Cemetery (now known as Watson) which is near Columbia, TN. Tennessee marriage records show that a James Holland married Winefred Sandford on June 7, 1827 in Maury County. Could this be James Holland's son? I would appreciate receiving any information about James Holland or his descendants.
