Gary, Thank you for the information. I do not know if her name was Nancy Hanks or not, it was so long ago that I had read that article. On the ALLEN'S , there were so many of them in the 1800's, and still many living in Maury County at this time. My Robert ALLEN was born in S.C.abt. 1830., I have been trying to locate his father and sibling for many years. No luck as yet, and I would appreciate information on your Robert, as I do collect information on other ALLENS, this way you never know what might come ot it. Allen rootsweb email is very informative not much going on at this time. I have corresponded with other ALLEN researchers and we get so close at times in names and birthdates. I would like to locate my gggrandfather ALLEN. The ones in Maury County had such a hard time during the Civil War.............there were not many records. I believe that he must have lived in Wayne County,TN., at one time. The court house burned in 1975 and many records were lost.
