Searching for one of my grandmothers; Mary Gibson ALLEN, b. about 1861, married in Maury County Tn., 28 July 1872 to James Shelton ALLEN. In the 1880 Census of Maury County Lavonia was 6, James 3, and Sarah 1. At this time they were living in the 15th District of Maury County Tn., I would like to know more about Mary Gibson and how she died. We always assumed it must have been childbirth since she was so young......but then again there were so many contiagous diseases back then maybe she and the children all died.
