I don't know why they didn't show up on the 1860 census, except that he was a carpenter and might have been somewhere else on a job, and she may have been living with her parents. They were in the 1870, 1880. he was listed in the 1890 veteran census. Mary Jane died in 1893. He was enumerated twice in 1900, in the house of my granpaw, his son-in-law, and at a doctor's house where he was doing some work. He died in 1906 and was buried unmaked at Old Knob Creek with his wife and only daughter, who died in 1901. He signed his will as James W Waddle. I read William T or S as a T.
