    3. Maury County,Tn., dist. 15. Two sisters with the middle name of "Ann" in their name. Martha Ann ALLEN , b. 1857, Wayne Co, TN., who went by the name of Ann ALLEN, age 23 in the 1880 Census of Maury County. By 1880 Ann was divorced with 2 children, and living with mother; Sarah BRADLEY ALLEN; age 48 widow. Children:Emma J. age 4,John W. Davis age 1. Not sure if they used the last name of DAVIS or ALLEN. In the census looks like DAVIS was crossed out.? And Betsy Ann ALLEN, b abt. 1860, used the name of Mollie ALLEN, Age 19 in 1880 census. Also, living with Sarah ALLEN were two half-brothers' of Mollie and Ann,; Willie 11, and Tom 8. When their father left in 1861 for the Civil War, Sarah was left with 6 children in Wayne Co.,TN., Cypress Inn. Children ranged in age from 10 to age 1. Sarah was trying to feed, clothe and shelter this family for years by keeping house and working for other families, in the Maury County,TN area. They had to get out of Wayne county, Cypress Inn, because of the War and living so close to the Alabama line. That area was devastated by the North and Southern troops crossing at that line. Willie had told his grandchildren that those times were so horrible, he stated that he did not care to talk about it. Sarah and Robert's children; William Thomas and Berry have not been located William was age 10 and Berry 7 when Robert went to war. I am trying to locate their burial places, especially Robert, I think he died in Mississippi. Am doing research on him at this time. Would appreciate any information on this family. If you need my address contact me and I will forward that to you. Anything to help my research. Thanks, Joyce --------------------------------- Talk is cheap. Use Yahoo!
