Maury County Rootsweb List Members: The responses to the Dickson County Heritage Book project have been great with story submissions and book orders being received from many states and sister counties in the state of Tennessee. Many of you have responded and we thank you for your interest. If you live within close proximity of Dickson County there are two upcoming writing workshops you are invited to attend. The first workshop will be in conjunction with the Dickson County Historical Society meetings and there will be two sessions. The date of that workshop is Tuesday 07, March 2006, 1st session at 2:00 p. m. and the 2nd session at 6:30 p. m. These workshops will be held at the Dickson County Library History / Genealogy Room. The second workshop will be held on Saturday 11, March 2006 at the Cumberland Furnace Iron Museum with two sessions also. These sessions will be from 9:00 a.m -11:00 a. m. and the afternoon session will be from 1:00 p. m. - 3: p. m. You are welcome to attend these workshop sessions. They are free. Do not forget the deadline for story submissions and book orders is 01 June 2006. Walsworth Publishing Company will be the publisher for our book project. They just completed the project in Lincoln County, TN. where there were 1800 + copies sold and there are no more copies available. There are many people upset that they missed out on the opportunity to participate, please do not let that happen to you in participating in the Dickson County Book project. We would like to welcome all of you to come home to Dickson County for "Old Timers Day" activities on Saturday May 6th. The festivities start on Thursday May 4th, Friday May 5th and the parade with other booths and activities on Saturday May 6th.
