Good morning Sylvia, I am convinced that Nancy is the great great grandmother for both of us as I alluded to in the reply on the mailing list. I think it is clear that "Joice" is really Ivie. I've tried to decode the writing in early census records and can easily believe that misinterpretation. I've done a fair amount of research beyond that and have a couple of good candidates for her parents. What info do you have that may help us find them so we can exchange info? WALKER on Dec 14, 1842, in Maury County, TN. If this is the record I'm looking for, then the man's name should be Robert C. IVIE (IVEY or IVY) rather than JOICE. I've found IVIE transcribed as JOICE before. If anyone is familiar with this particular WALKER family living in Maury Co, TN, in the mid-1800's, or can confirm that this is the couple I'm looking for, I would appreciate any help you can provide.
