Dear List Members: Does anyone have any mention of the followings surnames in any of their Maury County references? Also, does anyone know or know where I could find out, if there is another Maury County in the USA? I am looking for the following Coons: Lauria [multiple spelling-Laura, Louise,Laurella,etc.] COONS [multiple spellings-KOONS, KOON, KUHNS, COONTZE, KOUNCE, etc.] born in Maury County, Tennessee, circa 1813, father John COONS. She married David WILLIAMS [born circa 1809 in Montgomery County, Kentucky] on Oct 28, 1832 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had at least two children - Nathan Jefferson and Rebecca Justine WILLIAMS. They moved to Illinois, then possibly to Iowa. Unfortunately, I have no other COONS or any other reference to Maury County. Lauria Coons has also been documented as Lauria JACKSON COONS. I do not know if this a middle, maiden, or married name. The parents of David WILLIAMS [father -Nathan, mother - unknown] were supposedly from Virginia. Thank you in advance very much for your help!
