    3. Hi Dan, My book is 169 pages fully indexed. Has been done in size 9 print in order to get more information on less pages. I am asking $25.00 plus $5.00 shipping. It has well over 1000 obits. Is taken from newspapers from Warren county but they covered most of the state on a lot of the deaths. Soft back. Remember that far back the obiuaries were different than they are now. These were taken from front pages to community columns or what I call gossip columns. Maxine Reggio 7205 NW 46th. St. Bethany, Ok 73005 Sample McWhirter, Watson New Era Newspaper Thursday January 27 , 1876 Fatal Accident — A Boy Killed Caney Fork, Jan, 11th , 76 by Editor of New Era; As I for some time past have been and are still stuck off down here in the north part of old Warren in the literary " sanctum" with the children of this neighborhood, I have been busy, and consequently my pen has been silent. But as there occurred a fatal accident near my school today I have deemed it prudent to give the facts to your readers. Watson McWhirter, son of George McWhirter, accidently shot and killed himself this morning. Some of the neighbor boys were going to kill hogs, and McWhirter's folks were going to assist them. Watt, who was I suppose about 15 or 16 years old, took the gun and set off before the rest, and was waiting at the river for the canoe to be brought over, when the accident occurred. Wash Perkins was carrying the canoe, and was near the bank, when he heard the report of the gun, but was not looking at Watson. But from the manner in which he was shot it is supposed that he placed his foot on the hammer of the gun, and went to blow in the muzzle, when his foot slipped off, and the gun was discharged, the ball knocking out two or three of his upper front teeth, and entering the roof of his mouth, ranged toward the occipital bone, and produced death in about two hours. *** Sample New Era Newspaper Thursday May 13, 1880 - Death Of Mrs. R. C. Smartt A private letter from Alexandria brings the sad intelligence of there on Sunday night the 2 nd. Inst., of Mrs Caroline Smartt, wife of R. C. Smartt, Esq., whose life after her marriage, was chiefly spent in this place, and who had many kindred and warm friends among our people. Mrs. Smartt was a mother and wife of more than average merit, and her untimely decease will be a cause of surprise and sorrow in the large circle of her acquaintances. She fell a victim to the insidious foe of our race pulmonary consumption.
