Fraser who came to East Tenn, in 43, and 4 years later to Maury Co. W.D. mar. Martha, dau. of christopher and Martha (Chappell) Harris, who came from N.C. to this section in 46. Their children are Barton, farming on Knob Cr.; Mattie, wife of Hugh Hendley, of Godwin; Emma, wife of Will Dodson, of Theta; and Humphrey, clerking at the Racket Store, Columbia. He was educated at Atherdale, and began mrchandising at Timmons in 99, the following year coming to Columbia. The family has recently moved to Godwin. page 142: Timmons-........When W.D. Nancy Rodgers (b. Nov. 15, 1790; d. apr. 27, 1846). G.C., Jan. 8, 72, mar. B.P., dau. of J.L. Sedberry (b. Mar. 14, 1822; d.Aug. 18, 1905) and M.R. Alexander (b. June 20; 1833; d. Jan. 29, 1906). the children of G.C. Godwin and wife are J.C., b. apr. 23, 75; E.C., b. Aug.24, 77, and d. July 18, 94; L.M., b. July 81, wife of W.C. Gardner; N.E., b. Sept. 1, 83; Ava, b. Dec. 7, 88; Herbert, b. July 13, 90, and d. May 4, 94. The Godwins came from N.C. J.L. Sedberry was son of Wm. and Lucy(Fraser) Sedberry, also pioneers from N.C. His wife was dau. of A.I. and E.E.
