Well, i have been kinda stuck for a long time but this is what i do know.... With the help of Mr Harold Felty (IL) and Ms Jill Garrett. There were at least 5 John Campbells in Maury co,TN abt, 1815. He was in the War of 1812. A court record (and will book C pg 227: county court minutes) says his wifes name was Elenor...Ellen and also Elender Campbell . Her father was Joseph Denton They had 6 children born in Williamson turned Maury co. TN. Oldest, Mariah was b. 10 aug 1800. She m. Joseph Gill 12 aug 1819 in Maury co. They had 3 children. After 1820 TN census, The widow Ellender Campbell 4 children, & Mariah & Joseph Gill moved to Hamilton co.IL. , as i heard many of the 'Gills' did , in surrounding counties. In 1830 IL census they, lived next-door to each other. Sons John & William Campbell m.sisters Wheeler. Mariah ...2nd m. their uncle Robert Wheeler.
