That does not mean that there should not be a record because we have run into a lot of this sort of thing. During the two hundred years of its history, Maury County has sought to preserve its records. However, not always was there a "guard at the gate" and from time to time documents did disappear. We are trying now to get them together, perserve them in a county archives, and place the material on a database that can be used by all. I am sorry that nothing showed up for your ancestors.
