I'm descended from James Henry POTTS who married Virginia BOLLING before 1850 in Marshall Co., Miss. I believe James was descended from POTTS in Williamson or Maury Co., Tenn. By 1850 and 1860, this family and some of their children are in Maury or Lewis Co. Their son, Frank Oscar POTTS, married Tennessee HINES, and had Dora Mai POTTS, my grandmother, who married Thomas Monroe GORDON.
