This is supposed to be Maury County Genealogy. Remember? >> I just want to say that as the wife (for more than 25 years) of an Air Force man, and sitting on an Air Force base where our planes are leaving and the news media are camped at the gate and where we have planes in the Iraq area 24 hours a day since the gulf war, I am highly offended and saddened by the remarks made in this letter. My husband and the many other men and women in the military are making history - they are the "ancestors" of generations behind them. We have two grandchildren who may someday want to know the history of where there grandfather fought and how and when and why. No, it isn't Maury County. Sometimes we need to be able to bend the "rules" a bit in special circumstances, I believe. If the subject were one of great interest to you, perhaps you would feel differently. I am ashamed that there are people in our country who feel the need to attack people who are asking for prayers for people like my husband and neighbors. I admit that people who are sticklers for rules might not appreciate it, but you can easily hit the delete key. I would just like to say that this is the holiday season and, no matter what our beliefs may or may not be, it is still a good time to stop and remember the importance of being civil to our fellow humans and of being more accepting and of showing peace and good will. If this gets me in trouble, I'm sorry, but I'm very proud of my husband and of the other men and women who are in the military to protect the rights of all of us to have a free country to live in and the freedom to speak. Sincerely, Donna
