Please post the following for me, and many thanks for all your good works. James WHITE was a prominent citizen of Maury County in the years of about 1810 to 1829 or so. He was a friend of President James Knox Polk. However when he died, the rest of his family left Tennessee for Arkansas. I have noticed that a number of families took the same route at about the same time. What was happening in Maury County at that time, 1829, to bring about that exodus. I know that Arkansas was opening up about then, but why leave such an idyllic place, and in such numbers ? Secondly, I wonder if some very helpful person could possibly check into cemetery records or obituaries for James WHITE's birth and death dates and places.
