Dear List Members: Thank you to everyone who responded for my Coons cemetery request lookup [Fred, Claude, and MAWGEN@aol.com]. I would like to repost the message and ask again because as pointed out by Janis, Coons has multiple spellings. Here is the message reposted with multiple spellings. Thank you in advance for your response. Also, I would like to add my comments to the posting of information without recognition of the original source. I have had this happen to me and it does feel like the spirit of cooperation you are operating under is being compromised. I read in the weekly RootsWeb news [I think this was the source] of a comment by someone who actually wrote and stated "so what's the big deal. It's free information." The writer did not get the point of recognizing the efforts of the researcher. REPOSTING: Dear List Readers: Does anyone have a copy of Maury County, Tennessee Cemeteries, and would you be willing to do a look up for me? I am trying to find John Coons. He supposedly had a daughter, Lauria [has been spelled multiple ways], who was born circa 1813 in Maury County, Tennessee. I do not have any other information. Also, if anyone has any information on Coons in Maury County, I would appreciate any leads or direction. Multiple spellings for COONS: COON, COONS, KOON, KOONS, KUHN, KOONCE, KOONTZ, COUNCE, and even MAC COON. Is any one else researching this family? Thank you in advance.
