Robert J. Lacy, b 1818 Va m Mary Jane Bobbitt in 1835 in Maury Co ? Robert J Lacy same as above m Peggy Dow Bobbitt b 10-15-1822. They married in Yalobusha Co, Ms and are in the 1840, 1850, 1860 and 1870 census of Yal Co. Peggy and Mary Jane Bobbitt were daughters of Maj. William Bobbitt and first wife Sarah Woody. Robert J. Lacy and Peggy Dow Bobbitt Lacy had a daughter, Deliah b 1844 and a son b 1854 whose name cannot be read from the census record of 1870.The 1860 census has him with just initials which appear to be W.C. but not plain at all. Does any one know any thing of these two children? Major Bobbitt was James K. Polk's campaign manager. His mother was Lavina Park from Maury Co,according to the book 'Yalobusha Bound' by Chris Morgan. I am trying to place my G Grandfather with his family. The only name he used was PARK LACY. He was b 1854/55 he said in Tn. He married in 1879 in Carroll co, Ms and was living a few miles from where Robert J Lacy had lived by 1893.
