Does anyone have any information on the Sowell family of Maury Co., TN? My ancestor is John Sowell, Sr. (b ca 1762 in Bertie Co., NC - d 10/8/1825 in Maury County, TN). He was married to Elizabeth? One of their sons was John, Jr. (b ca 1795 - d 11/18/1859 Hardin Co., TN). He married Edney (Edna) Smith. She is believed to be the daughter of Rubin & Mary Smith who lived in Maury Co., TN.
