Madison Murry Mitchell (1831-1918) was the fourth son of A. D. and was a twin. He was born and died in Culleoka, Maury Co, TN. His wife Elizabeth Toombs' parents were from Virginia. Her grandfather John D. Toombs donated the land for the Friendship Baptist Church and the cemetery, where he, along with his son, John H., Elizabeth's father and Madison Murry are buried. John D.'s log cabin once stood 100 yards from where he is now buried. His brother was Marshall Murry, who hasn't been located since his marriage to Nancy Carter. Madison and Elizabeth had 8 children and raised them on their large farm on Sheepneck Rd., in Culleoka. A new house now stands (new owners) where the old one was. Madison and Elizabeth share a very nice marker in the Friendship Baptist Cemetery. There are descendants of Madison still living on Sheepneck Rd. Roy Henry Mitchell, Lucy and Catherine Holt. Burnice (Mitchell) Punkins lives at the end of Shepneck and across the paved street from her brother Roy Henry. Culleoka is Indian for "sweet water".
