Hello, My ggrandfather was James L. BURNS, who was in Tippah County,MS and still there in 1860 census where he is listed as being born in TN. Another researcher has suggested that he may have been the son of Miles BURNS of Maury and Hardeman County, TN. Do you have a James L. Burns in your information? Thanks so much for any information.
