John S. Waddle is listed in the 1820 Maury Co. Census. I am seeking any information on this family, especially the names of the 9 children and his wife. Does anyone have land docs, cemetery records, church records, anything to share? John S. Waddle possibly was a member of the Mecklenburg NC branch, although I have been unable to find a direct link. I am attempting to determine if he is the father of my GGGrandfather, Archibald Howard Waddle b.11 Nov. 1817 in TN m. @1840 Haywood Co. TN d.6 Feb 1899 AR. Archibald's son, Dr. John Smith Waddle b. 1849 in Haywood Co.TN, might have been named for the Maury Co. John S. Waddle referenced above. I am in touch with Leta Horine, a member of this list, who has given helpful, but not dispositive info. Would appreciate any other leads.
