Hello Charlotte, I am trying to find information on the above -- my great-great-grandparents. John was born in ~1793 in Georgia or South Carolina; Mary is believed to have been full-blood Cherokee born in 1801 in North Carolina. They had 11 children, all born in Maury County -- the first in 1816 and the last in 1843. The two boys were named Jesse (b. 1828?) and John (b. 1840) Mitchell. My ancestor was the second last: Rowena Clementine, born in 1841. The girls were named: Cynthia, Minta (m. Calvin Latta in 1842), Susan (m. Wm Stewart 1848), Nancy, Mary, Sarah, Caldonia, Rowena Clementine, and Mary E. I would be very grateful for anything you might find for me on the Mitchells. The other line in the area that I am also interested in is Wm C Crawford (b. 1812 or 1813 maybe in Giles Co). His son Wm P married Rowena and they then lived in Rutherford Co.
