This is my Lawson and McNabb ancestors. Anybody know anything about any of these? Gene in Clarksville, TN. (Ancestor) John Lawson (Parents) Thomas and Susan Lawson (Born) December 24,1841 (At) Meigs County, Tennessee (Died) (At) Tennessee (Married) 1868 (At) (Spouse) Elizabeth McNabe (Parents) John and Ann McNabe (Born) (At) (Died) (At) Remarks... John was a farmer who lived 1 1/2 miles west of Taylorville, Maury County, Tennessee. John married the second time to Emma Brooks daughter of Hiram and Winnie McNabb Brooks. John and Emma were married in 1870. John Riley Lawson was by first wife, Elizabeth, while rest of children are by second wife. There may have been another son, Levi, but I don't know how he fits in. Brooks and McNabes live close to or just inside the Maury County, Tennessee line. It was told to me by my mother that she heard that John came home from the war (Civil war?) with a McNabb man and he later married his sister, Elizabeth. The children are listed below: 1.John Riley Lawson born May 27,1867, some say in Kentucky??, but no proof, Died March 7,1950 at Lewis County, Tennessee, Married June 30,1898 at Lewis County, Tennessee to Louisa "Lou" Jane Hensley. Son of Elizabeth McNabe. 2.James (Jim) Lawson was born in 1873, married to a lady called Aunt Fannie. They had children, one grandson lives in or around Centerville, TN, one daughter named Lillie Mae Lawson married to Archie Brown. They had one son named Jimmy Brown. 3.Josh Lawson was born March 13,1874 and married Nannie Ballard born July 14,1874. Josh farmed in Taylorville with his father. Nancy Louvenia Ballard was born July 14,1874 in Maury County and died February 12, 1957 in Texas. She was the daughter of James Milton Ballard, Jr. (born December 25, 1836 in Maury County and died September 6, 1902 in Lewis County) and Mary Elizabeth Runion (born May 5, 1836 in Maury County and died January 30, 1926 Ellis County, Texas). James Ballard and Mary Elizabeth Runion married September 11, 1858 in Lewis County. Josh and Nannie Lawsons children were: 1.A.J. Lawson born December 15,1896 2.J.W. Lawson died 3.Oma Lawson born September 30,1902 4.Emma B. Lawson born February 1,1905 4.Sidney Lawson (female) was born in 1878 and married Marion Hill, they lived in Texas. (1898 for Sidney Elizabeth Lawson and Marion Eli Hill of TN.) 1910 Hickman County Census Civil District 5 Household #130 Marion Hill married 18 years Sidney 7 children 6 living 5.Amanda Lawson (Mandy) may have died young. 6.Lou Francis Lawson was born May 2,1889 and married William Elmer Randles (Randells) 7.Lillie Lawson, Lillie died young. 8.Levi Lawson, Levi was a short man who died fairly young. 9.Suzie Lawson was one of the oldest and was the first to move to Texas. She came back when John Lawson was old and visited this area though. It is thought she may have lived some in California. Married to Bill Carmichael.
