Dear Tonya: Let me correct some errors in my previous email: Lauria [multiple spelling-Laura, Louise,Laurella,etc.] Coons [multiple spellings-Koons, Koon, Kuhns, Coontze, Kounce, etc.] born in Maury County, Tennessee, circa 1813, father John Coons. She married David Williams [born circa 1809 in Montgomery County, Kentucky] on Oct 28, 1832 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had at least two children - Nathan Jefferson and Rebecca Justine Williams. They moved to Illinois, then possibly to Iowa." Unfortunately, I have no other Coons or any other reference to Maury County. Lauria Coons has also been documented as Lauria Jackson Coons. I do not know if this a middle, maiden, or married name. The parents of David Williams [father -Nathan, mother - unknown] were supposedly from Virginia. I have not focused my research on these lines and probably will concentrate on other family lines if I continue to be unsuccessful! Any help is appreciated. Where were your Coons from?
