    3. Here's a link to my site. Scroll down and you'll find links to both of Wayne's sites. He has one for cemetery pictures (thousands) and listings, mostly for south county, and the other site is school history and pictures. Mine is more general and is not limited to Maury County. I have a few hundred cemetery pictures, mostly north county. Gary Hood Marissa, IL http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genieresources/

    1. Re: [TNMAURY-L] Picture of CSA vets
    2. Hi Gary: I am the owner of the original picture of the CSA vets and it was posted to the Maury County web page with my permission. I did not know, however, that it had been removed. I believe I know the identify of 8 (perhaps now 9 with your addition) the gentlemen: Wilson Trousdale, Earl T. Gilliam, Dave Watkins (David Frierson Watkins?), Rafe Gresham, William Thomas Walker, George W. Park, Isaiah Burney Bryant (my g-g grandfather); and Billy Mitchell (William H. Mitchell?). I am a little concerned that you have identified my g-g grandfather as Bluford Hanks Fitzgerald. Let's see if we can sort out which person you are talking about. If you will look at the photograph, you will notice that a gentlemen in the front row (center) has 2 lines drawn to his feet/shoes. That is my g-g grandfather - Isaiah Burney Bryant. The identity of this man is in NO doubt. As far as the date, I have been told it may have been taken in 1902. I have also been told that the picture was taken by C.C. & Otto Giers, famous Nashville photographers. A lady who bought the identical photograph from the estate sale of Otto Giers indicates that her copy of the photo was titled as "Reunion of Confederate Veterans taken at Residence of Maj. Hardison in South Nashville." Let me know how I can help you further. I will be happy to send to a copy of the photograph with numbers assigned to each man. I can then give you a key to which man's identity goes with which number. I believe I also donated a copy of this picture to the Maury Co. Historical Society. If you live close to Columbia, I believe it can be viewed there as well. Please let me know if anyone contacts you about the identity of any of these men. It would be wonderful to put names to their faces. We consider this picture a family treasure !!!!! Thanks, Lucy Dunaway Zeier LooswhL@aoL.com "Remember me in the family tree-- my name, my days, my strife; then I'll ride upon the wings of time and live an endless life." Goetsch

    3. David, Juanita Keys at the Mt. Pleasant Maury County Phosphate Museum is in charge of all cleanup out there. She has regular work days each year, and then has local community work guys that work with her from time to time. That is part of their punishment from the penal system is to clean up out there. Of course she oversees everything. I know that recently she has some guys coming in from somewhere working on a lot of the older stones. You can contact her at the museum about anything. She is very nice. I don't have any of those numbers, but I think they are pretty easily found.
