    1. Re: [TNMAURY-L] Finding Location of Santa Fe Public Cemetery
    2. From Columbia go northwest on Santa Fe Pike (road #7) across Duck River for about 10 miles. When you see Snow Creek Road (#247) on right you are getting close, then you will pass Beatty Farms Lane on the left while still on Santa Fe Pike, then immediately on the right you will see Santa Fe Cemetery - can't miss it, next to road. A little beyond on the Pike is the community of Santa Fe.

    1. Finding Location of Santa Fe Public Cemetery
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Hays, Hayes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0hB.2ACI/550 Message Board Post: Could someone familiar with the area provide directions to the Santa Fe Public Cemetery? My "Streets & Trips" map program grudgingly acknowledges the existence of Santa Fe, but it's literally a dot on the map, with no detail. I would like to grab some headstone photos (James P. Hayes & family) on a cross-country trip, but wandering aimlessly around Tennessee doesn't sound like a really great plan. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and effort. Cordially, Barbara Collin

    3. Follow this link http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genieresources/ Then click on "A few pages from the cemetery records, by Fred Lee Hawkins." When that loads, scroll down to the individual pages. You want 702 and 703. Just a few of the pages are loaded, including yours. If you click on one that is not you get an error. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of domojo@aol.com Sent: Sunday, April 02, 2006 3:15 PM To: TNMAURY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TNMAURY-L] Morrow cemetery This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. 3. This is to thank Gary Hood on whose Maury County TN website are now posted several antique pictures of Our branch of the Cecil family If you are interested You can see them at > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genieresources/ look under the heading "pictures" then under "Cecil". Many of you on the Cecil list will recall that Samuel Cecil, ..>>son of Zachariah, son of Samuel Witten, son of John Sessell, son of William Sessell Cecil 1665.<<< left his native Virginia with his wife Sarah Brown , went to Ohio with a brother, and then ended up in Mt. Pleasant, Maury County, Tennessee, where he left MANY descendants including a great grandson, my husband's father. He is the Arthur Reagan "Dick" Cecil 1886-1939 you will see on the website, and was the very best Father in law ever. Also look under the name Williams, for "S T Williams" the man who raised Ingram and Arthur after they were orphaned at 8 and 6 years of age. Thanks again Gary, Steph Powell Cecil stephaxi@mindspring.com

    3. Just to add a note everyone, I know that if you are a long time researcher in TN you usually find the cemetery records on the actual County site for the TNGenWeb, but when I took over Marshall for instance there were only 3 or 4 cemeteries that had been transcribed by someone other than Marsh & Marsh who wrote the book for Marshall Co. I cannot copy and print that book online. Just as I cannot do that for Maury. The cemetery site that Wayne has, and the suppliments that Gary have are the best resources for Maury County that I can find, because I cannot print Fred Hawkin's book either. I have no desire to copy either one of their works, and usually point others to them for putting cemetery records up, because I think seniority counts. <grin> If at any time a researcher here who decides to donate transcriptions or pictures of stones in cemeteries or cemeteries themselves directly to the Maury TNGenWeb or the David Donahue Records Repository on the TNGenWeb, then I would certainly abide by their wishes. I am sorry if it is confusing to folks. As far as finding other links for cemetery information, if you don't see Wayne's name, or Gary's name or my name or the TNGenWeb logo, then they are someone I am unaware of. If they have information worth linking to I certainly will. If they have incorrect information, you have to take it up with them. I can't force anyone to change something on their site, just like Wayne and Gary cannot either. Denny did a fabulous job with Maury Co, I have been researching the Maury site while Denny coordinated it for years before I took over, same as Marshall. I link to Gary and Wayne because I think their sites are the best resources to provide you. That is why you will find the links where they are. Soon, their links will also be in the research room, a room that I hope folks will use like a library. Sometimes people find it easier to think in that manner. (I need to find this so I am going to the library) Besides, running both Maury and Marshall County, I can tell all of you that you are the most helpful, resourceful, respectful, honest, and awesome people I have ever met. (List admin included!) I have never seen other counties so darn helpful for others, to the point that even if we didn't have the look ups pages, people who have those records here would step up and help if they can. I hear from hundreds of folks a month through the TNGenWeb, and you will usually find them popping up here on these list because this is one of the first places I point them to for help, for possible connections. When I had more time I use to help folks find you by searching these list archives for them, the census etc. Now I have to just kinda pitch them in here. Thank you to everyone for helping all of us, and thank you to Wayne and Gary for their sites. I have found many of my family on both of your sites, some I didn't know exsisted. I also want to thank the list admin here for the wonderful work, even though I don't know his name (smirk) and I want to thank Bettye Liberty for helping people and being a huge resource for me, Rick Gray for the same because if I ask and he can, he does, and he is kinda related to me (sorry Rick) Michelle if you are lurking for your info helping me point folks to the archives, and everyone who donates family info, transcribed records etc. I don't get the opportunity much to say thank you and I had time this morning. I really wish I had more time but I think the list admin would boot me for babbling.......... Paulette Maury & Marshall Co. 1. Rose Hill Cemetary
    2. Does anyone know if Rose Hill Cemetary has an Office located in the cemetary? I would love to visit and look up some of my relatives graves that are there but I have been told that it is a pretty big place. I am trying to find out the locations of the graves before I visit there or at least visit the office first thing. I have in the past roamed around in cemetaries for hours and not find anything that I am looking for. Thanks in advance. _______________________________________________ Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com The most personalized portal on the Web!

    3. I'm not real sure what you are saying, Danielle, but I will go with some other complaints I had. Let me thank you all for the interest you have shown in putting names to the CSA vets. Thank you. I'm sorry about the confusion. I will change the label for the first link, or maybe remove it altogether. If you go to my site and READ the info written right next to the 1st link to Maury County, Tennessee Cemeteries, the one right after Cemetery Markers Pictures and listings, it will say what pages are loaded. These are a few pages from the books by Fred Hawkins. Very few pages are loaded because I don't have RIGHTS to them. That link is to a subcatalog on my site. Don't expect to find much there. I loaded the pages for Friendship Baptist Cemetery because it disappeared when the old MCHS site was replaced. This is what the first link says: Maury County, Tennesse Cemeteries. Very few pages are there, but there is a map of Rose Hill Cemetery and a complete list of Friendship Baptist Cemetery, pages 480-493. If you scroll down to the 2nd link to Maury County, Tennessee Cemeteries, under Links to other Maury County resources, that link will take you to Wayne Austin's site. He has a lot of stuff there. Except, Friendship Baptist Cemetery, because the link he had/has is to the old MCHS site, which ain't there no more. Here's the link to my site again, so you won't have to go back through all that mess to find it. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~genieresources/ -----Original Message----- From: f. danielle taylor [mailto:figurere8er@verizon.net] Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 2:57 PM To: TNMAURY-L@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [TNMAURY-L] Picture of CSA vets click on the site and see what i am telling yall.the numbers ones, says 404 have been deleted. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rod & Paulette" <parcarp@comcast.net> To: <TNMAURY-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 11:33 AM Subject: Re: [TNMAURY-L] Picture of CSA vets > Tell her/who what?? > P > ----- Original Message ----- > From: <WayneAL1@aol.com> > To: <TNMAURY-L@rootsweb.com> > Sent: Thursday, March 30, 2006 1:46 PM > Subject: Re: [TNMAURY-L] Picture of CSA vets > > >> You tell her Gary >> >> Wayne >> >> >> >> ==== TNMAURY Mailing List ==== >> SOUTHERN HERITAGE NEWS & VIEWS >> http://lists.topica.com/lists/SouthernHeritage/prefs/info.html >> >> ============================== >> New!
