    3. I am researching the YOUNG, SCRIBNER, HENSLEY, POGUE, and JOHNSTON families of Maury and present day Lewis Counties. My ancestors were in the area as early as 1800. I would love to share information with any interested party. There is a small community near Culleoka that is named Scribner's Mill after my ancestor John Scribner. Thanks Mike

    3. Thank you for your information, but I am not certain it is the correct PORTER family. William PORTER, Sr. left a will in Maury in 1840's, with wife Sebra who was a daughter of Thomas GOODRUM a RW soldier from SC, verified by his will also in Maury Co. The William PORTER mentioned in the will of William, Sr. is the one I am seeking. He married Charlotte TATUM (maiden name from family history, unproven), and by 1850 they had moved to Marshall Co., MS. There were several Porter families in the Maury/Giles area, and with the repetition of names, it is almost certain they were somehow related.     3. You don't happen to have any information on the TATUM family from the Maury Co., TN area do you? I am seeking information on the wife of William W. PORTER who was born in 1800 and married Charlotte O. TATUM (the Tatum name from family history, no proof). I have been trying for years to find some clue to her background. They appear to have married in TN because several of their children were born there. By 1850 they were in Marshall Co., MS.
