Looking for the parents and siblings of ELIJAH REED, born in NC in 1809 - died in Tippah Co., MS in 1885 & buried in Little Hope Cemetery. ELIJAH married JESTON KETCHUM 24 Dec 1830 in Limestone County, AL. ELIJAH & JESTON had 11 children. Am thinking that the parents of ELIJAH may be DAVID REED born 1770/1780 in TN and ELIZABETH ________ b abt 1785 in Ohio, but no positive information. Dear Tonya: Let me correct some errors in my previous email: Lauria [multiple spelling-Laura, Louise,Laurella,etc.] Coons [multiple spellings-Koons, Koon, Kuhns, Coontze, Kounce, etc.] born in Maury County, Tennessee, circa 1813, father John Coons. She married David Williams [born circa 1809 in Montgomery County, Kentucky] on Oct 28, 1832 in Montgomery County, Indiana. They had at least two children - Nathan Jefferson and Rebecca Justine Williams. They moved to Illinois, then possibly to Iowa." Unfortunately, I have no other Coons or any other reference to Maury County. Lauria Coons has also been documented as Lauria Jackson Coons. I do not know if this a middle, maiden, or married name. The parents of David Williams [father -Nathan, mother - unknown] were supposedly from Virginia. I have not focused my research on these lines and probably will concentrate on other family lines if I continue to be unsuccessful! Any help is appreciated. Where were your Coons from? I am looking for information on Robert Young, b. ca. 1806 in Kentucky, according to 1850 Tenn. Census.  He lived in Maury Co.  He mar. Matilda Chaffin, b. in Charlotte Town, VA.  Robert was murdered at Culleoka on 09 Jul 1868 by a neighbor named Mash, who was also a relative.  He had a son named John Marion Young who also lived in Maury Co. and was married to Susan R. Scribner.  John Marion was a grist miller, and had a mill near Scribner's Mill for a number of years.  He had a mill on Richland Creek in Giles Co. during the 1870's and 1890's.  Also, looking for their relatives: John Scribner, Easter Johnston, & Arthur Hensley.  (Mdbaskin@aol.com).

Hello, I am very interested in your MOSS line - my MOSSes ended up in Cooper, TX as well - I don't know where they started though. Would you happen to have a Marion Francis Moss (or Francis Marion Moss) mixed in with your bunch? He married Mary Frances Boatright ca 1877. Their daughter Ophelia Mae Moss (along with much of her deceased descendants) are buried in Cooper. Her siblings were John Elliott, Tom, James, and Huie.
