Had quite a lot of property damage in southwestern part of Columbia: a number of homes and trailers, the Pepsi Bottling plant, Shadybrook Mall, etc. Noone was injured, as far as I know. Jackson, Tn. was worst hit. Several killed and extensive damage there. You might want to check out The Daily Herald's website. They should have something on the damage. Their address is: http://columbiadailyherald.com/ Lottaluck. Fred.

A quarterly publication is issued. Membership dues are $10 per year. > > Visit the Maury County Historical Society Web Site at: > http://www.maurywebpages.com/mchs/index.htm Dear Dani, The Table of Contents of the book shows: 6 pages of general introduction. 14 page History of Maury County. 50 pages of History of Maury County Communities. 3 pages of Maury County Government. 8 pages of Maury County Schools. 47 pages of Maury County Churches. 10 pages of Maury County Organizations. 30 pages of Maury County Businesses. 330 pages of Family Histories. There are over 1000 family histories submitted by families. Many of these include a picture of family members, either current or historic. This is the heart of the book and contains much about families that has never been published before. A Surname Index makes it possible to find names that would be hard to find otherwise. The book contains 504 pages, more than 1000 pictures, is hardbound, printed on slick, opague paper and is a "must" for Maury County Genealogists and other History Researchers. Price: $70.00, plus $5.00 for mailing. Send check to Maury County Historical Society, P. O. Box 147, Columbia, TN 38402. Hope this helps you to understand what the book is all about. If you want a copy, don't delay in sending your order. We have only a very limited supply left. We are trying to get the publisher to supply us with some more copies but don't know whether or not they can do so. Take care. Fred.
