There was a David Jackson on 1850 Maury Census with wife Leanna or Leanne. David born abt 1805 in VA. Daughter Mary J. married Joseph Whitted. Is this your family? Joseph Whitted is from my family.
Greetings, I am a descendant of Joseph Jackson, Sr. who apparently was living in Columbia, TN at the time of his death before 1833 (exact date of his birth/death uncertain, although one record has him immigrating from Northern Ireland in 1771). His son, Terrell J. Jackson b. in Green Co., GA is the subject of a great deal of written info as he was a Texas Republic pioneer moving there in 1840-1. I descend from Terrell J. Jackson via one of his daughters b. in Alabama in 1840 (Celeste Eugenia Jackson Griggs). Please see the following documents for more: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~caseytexas/ChappellHill/CH-Docs -Index.html My Jackson ancestry is outlined here: http://jackson.casey-genealogy.com <http://jackson.casey-genealogy.com/> I'm curious if there are any Maury Co., TN or Columbia, TN records of Joseph Jackson, Sr., whose wife was named Hettie Bird Jackson (nee Bird) or she may have been known as Easther or Heddy. They had 5 sons, Reddick, William, Harris, Terrell J. and Joseph Jr., who all (or perhaps 4 of 5) moved on to Texas after their mother's death in Pickens Co., AL in 1840. Given them time frames of their birth (1793-1815 or thereabouts) some may have been born in TN, but the child (TJ) born in 1805 was in Georgia. Records indicate Joseph Sr. died in Columbia and he perhaps is buried there (if any cemetery records show him there, I'd be most appreciative of a notification). Terrell J. Jackson was later a prominent citizen in the new Republic of Texas being a trustee/founder of Baylor University, and a prominent man in lumber and rail development in Washington Co., TX (part of Stephen F. Austin's former colony). He died in 1867 in a yellow fever epidemic, and is buried in a cemetery along with Texas Republic heroes and relatives of William Barret Travis (commander at the Alamo). Thanks for any info anyone may have on Joseph Jackson, Sr., and please see the above links for some data about him. Take care, dlc

Surnames: Jones Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0hB.2ACI/315 Message Board Post: I am searching for my husbands Jones ancestors. His grandfather was Clyde Willis Jones. I have a copy of an old photograph, and on the bottom is the logo for Young&Evans, a paint pallet and Columbia, Tenn. I know that Clyde Willis had two sisters, Mary and Sara. I believe Sara married Earl Parker. The photo looks late 1800's or turn of the century. Pictured are mother, father, and three children. On the back, some writing was not legible, 1871 Viola, 1857 Charlie, Clyde Jones, Mary Jones and Sara Jones. Mother's birthday Nov. 10, 1871, Papa Jan. or June 28, 1857, married 1891. The original photograph came directly from the Clyde Willis Jones estate in Augusta, Ga. It now belongs to his granddaughter. Clyde was in his 80's when he died in the midseventies in Augusta. Sara and her husband, Earl, were killed in an automobile accident in Florida two or three decades ago. The ancestors of my husband's grandfather are quite elusive. Anyone who can help, it will be muc! h appreciated. Thanks, Diane.

He and Sarah also show up on the 1870 Maury County census in District 11 household 69/72. I found him in the 1880-1930 Lawrence Co., TN census. In 1900 they have his parents birthplace as Unknown. In 1910 & 1920 they have them being born in TN and in 1930 they have them as being born in South Carolina. Anyone have any ideas??

I am looking for the parents of Ad/Add Buchanan. Ad lived in Tennesse at some point and maybe Kentucky. Ad's children are still living. Have tried looking for him in census records but have been unable to find him. I am wondering if Ad was just a nickname or perhaps a middle name her went by later on? Don't have very much info on him, this is basically all I know. No idea on who his parents may have been, no clues at all. Not too clear on who his wife was either. If you recognize this name though, please let me know. MB
I need to connect with anyone working on the BELL family in early Maury County. My Bells were there from 1816 forward. I am particularly interested in VALENTINE BELL and his descendants. Valentine Bell Jr. married Elizabeth HALL. I will happily share info I have. Thanks, E. Walker Myer (my mother was a Bell)
